Suwannee High School junior Cooper Williams has been selected to serve as the school’s Student Ambassador for the 2025-2026 school year. The role gives students a voice at school board meetings and allows them to represent their peers while highlighting the great things happening on campus.
Williams, an 11th grader, is active in Brain Bowl, Beta Club, and Yearbook, where he has developed a passion for photography, especially capturing moments from football and volleyball games. He also balances his extracurricular involvement with a challenging schedule of Advanced Placement courses.
When Williams learned he was chosen, he reflected on last year’s ambassador, Charlotte Dunn, who has been a source of guidance and support as he steps into the role. “She’s been very helpful getting me prepared for this first meeting,” Williams said.
As ambassador, Williams hopes to be a true representative of the student body. “I look forward to being the voice of the student body and sharing some of the stories that might fly under the radar,” he said. He added that his diverse group of friends will help him bring a broad perspective to the board. “I think there are clubs that are underutilized on campus. Shining a light on them may help them stand out and meet their goals.”
Williams also pointed to the positive impact of the Bulldog Standard, a new initiative at Suwannee High, and said he looks forward to sharing updates about how it is shaping school culture in a positive way.
Personally, he sees the ambassador role as an opportunity to grow. “I’ve had a hard time advocating for myself in my life and I feel this will be a good thing and put myself in more vulnerable positions,” Williams explained. Looking ahead, he plans to attend the University of Florida and pursue law school, noting that the ambassador experience will help him build confidence in public speaking—something he knows will be valuable in the courtroom one day.
When asked what message he wanted to share with his classmates, Williams kept it simple:
“I want to be able to communicate for you, and I hope you approach me on what you want out there.”
