Theatre is a team (dare I say, family) activity. Though you learn and work on individual skills, those skills are meant to be brought together with others to create an amazing work of art. As with any art form, it is not just about the physical abilities, time allotment, or intelligent decision-making; it is about HEART—tapping into your inner being and using it to connect with others and make something wonderful.
The Theatre Program at Suwannee High is a fun-filled, project-based learning environment where students practice and master skills important to success in any endeavor they may choose to pursue following graduation as the upper level courses are run very similar to a theatrical business. These include
- Confidence
- Working in a team
- Improvisation/quick decision-making
- Organization
- Being responsible
- Being punctual
- Notifying an “employer” of absence
- Requesting time-off
- Understanding the limitations of budget
- Marketing
- Creative design
